Then and now.. heart or head!



Perth City Baths c1898, another view here.. too fabulous! Could this area possibly be any more different from it's incarnation into today's Elizabeth Quay. The romantic part of my brain wishes I could have experienced the 1900's Moorish architecture and the liberating wickedness of wearing a bathing suit such as this 😉, but the reality of having to trek for miles on a hot Perth summer day to get there, plus the fact that the baths were available to men only for the hottest part of the day would have seriously ruffled my equilibrium :) As lovely as it looks, at that time the population in Perth was roughly 45,000.. it would never have coped with the 2million plus living here today. Still.. it does look a treat don't you think. Happy Thursday, take care and stay safe..
