Like most of us I enjoy beautifully executed street art.. if it has a story attached even better! Always delighted to come across a new piece by Perth based mural and installation artist Daek William. When in Maylands last week having lunch with mon amie française Marie it was the first thing I spotted coming along Whatley Crescent on the wall of Mrs S Cafe. Commissioned by the City of Bayswater it is the last in a series of sixteen murals in Maylands curated by Studio 281. As Mrs S Cafe is located in a heritage listed building it was a bit trickier, until delving into the history of the area it was discovered that back in the 1920's Mrs.S Harpon did in fact have tea-rooms along the crescent thus creating a connection between past and present Maylands, problem solved beautifully! You can read the story here, interesting it is! Happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe..
