Unfolding: New Indian Textiles..

Our visit to the Fremantle Arts Centre on Monday was to see Unfolding: New Indian Textiles. The exhibition featuring 'saris, uncut cloth and street wear, examines the ways in which the traditional skills, motifs and production methods, developed over centuries, are evolving in light of international influences and modern technologies'. A veritable feast of exquisite colours and textures, materials so fine they were translucent. Saris are beautiful and look wonderful whatever shape or size a woman is but the draping of a sari looks a bit complicated. Following the basic steps here and with a bit of practice it could be doable :) Photos don't always do exhibitions like this full justice but I hope you enjoyed this splash of colour anyway.
