On a day when most people didn't want to venture outside for any reason, let alone photography, I actually came home with some nice images. I had a presentation to give to the Macedon Ranges Photographic Society at Riddells Creek, and I took the opportunity on the way there to drop in to Trentham Falls. Though not a lot of flow over the falls, by getting near the top of the falls I was able to get a great view down the valley, and the water flow from this angle was just right...any more and I wouldn't have been standing this close! The rain had given everything a nice saturated look and the touch of autumn colour really added a nice final touch.
The presentation went really well...the trip home was another matter! The wind and rain through and out of Gisborne was ferocious…there was huge tree down half blocking the road on the south side of Gisborne with a police car sitting by with the lights flashing to warn everyone. And then when I made it down to Bacchus Marsh onto the Western Freeway, it actually got worse…..the trucks were kamikazes…aquaplaning…great fun (sort of!)….no, I didn’t stop to take any photos!
The rain continues to fall, I'm sure the local falls will be showing some good action.
