Where Has The Lake Gone!

One location I am always keen to visit after returning from a trip is Lake Burrumbeet. When I left over a month ago it was not looking good...and the little rain whilst away has made a dramatic effect. I was quite shocked when I drove up to see just how much the lake had dried up. There was still some areas of water down the south end of the lake that might be worth investigating at a later date. One thing I did notice from my initial high viewpoint was some big patches of red and by getting myself down into them I found this red plant that has really made its mark. Some nice late light really helped, though I think some aerials would be the best way to show it off.
In the last image here, that foreground area would normally offer a great reflection of the sunset...hopefully some good rains coming soon will help get the lake levels back up.
