Location
(5:00am - 7:30am). An early morning walk around the main lake and an hour at Hide 1 was very rewarding, made better by the fact that the sun was out, despite the forecast of rain. Main highlights were: 43+ Mute Swan, 330+ Canada Geese in two flocks 220+ and 100+, 4 Common Tern, a pair on the Reserve, a Cuckoo on the Reserve, 80+ Swift, 1 Kingfisher on the Reserve, 3 Grey Wagtail (2 adult and 1 juvenile) by the overflow on the Main lake, 6+ Reed Warbler (singing), Garden Warbler, 14 Blackcap (singing), 7 Chiffchaff (singing), and 2 Spotted Flycatchers.

Birds Recorded: Great Crested Grebe, Cormorant, Grey Heron, 43+ Mute Swan, 2 Greylag Geese, 330+ Canada Geese, Mallard, Tufted Duck, 3 Pheasant, Moorhen, Coot, Black-headed Gull, Herring Gull, Lesser Black-backed Gull, 4 Common Tern, Wood Pigeon, Cuckoo, 80+ Swift, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, Sand Martin, Swallow, 1 Pied Wagtail, 3 Grey Wagtail, Dunnock, Robin, Blackbird, Song Thrush, 4 Mistle Thrush, 6+ Reed Warbler singing, Garden Warbler, 14 Blackcap, 7 Chiffchaff, 8 Goldcrest, 2 Spotted Flycatcher, Long-tailed Tit, Coal Tit, Great Tit, Blue Tit, Treecreeper, Wren, Magpie, Rook, Carrion Crow, Jackdaw, Chaffinch, Goldfinch, Greenfinch, Bullfinch and Reed Bunting. 51 species.
Also: 8 Rabbits, 1 Grey Squirrel and several Greater Water Boatmen, Notonecta glauca.
