After a few days shooting in town here in Ballarat, on Thursday morning it was nice to get out to Lake Burrumbeet for a lovely autumn (!) morning. Once again the great calm conditions continued, however my first couple of stops were at ground level. Duggans Lane on the west side of Lake Burrumbeet always gives a great view across the lake towards Ballarat and Mt Warrenheip and this first image taken about half an hour before sunrise shows some of the best crepuscular rays I have seen. Further south I made another stop at Sawyers Bay where I had to move really fast to capture this group of pelicans before they moved away. Great to see the pelicans are returning to the lake, too. The 3rd image here of the egret (?) fishing off the rocks was a bit easier to get as he was there for quite a while.
I then moved around the lake a bit to grab some aerials just as the sun was starting to light the landscape...not a bad morning, I reckon!
