Right on the heels of my last post - I was in Washington with Marvi, Mateo, and Kaleb taking part in the #marchforourlives protest. It was a lot for a 8 and 6 year to take in. All those people. All those signs. Some with colorful language that made for some awkward explain actions.
But a great day for history, a statement, and a teaching moment.
After hearing marchers chant At the end of the day Mateo asked “what is democracy?”
All we could answer was -
“This.”
