On Saturday morning I was on my way out west of Ballarat to Lake Goldsmith and I thought I would take a slight detour to see how Mt Emu was looking. I don't get out this way very often and as it was well after sunrise I wasn't expecting too much. However when I crested a bit of a rise that gave me a nice view of the mountain I had to act quickly to catch the last remnants of the fog on top of the rock just as a break in the clouds bathed the scene in some intense light. I grabbed a few images before the sun faded and it was all over. It's a spot that I may target a bit more, especially over winter.
