Sculpture by the Sea 2019.. IV

The last time Aimee was persuaded to 'photo bombed' WA artist Denise Pepper's work was here (will have to scroll down a bit). Her piece for this year's Sculpture by the Sea 'SEQUINtial Reflections' was positioned on a slope making it slightly challenging to get more than the top of her red locks into frame :) Created in aluminum, stainless steel and steel fixings SEQUINtial Reflections 'follows on from last year's photo bomb and continues the opportunity to explore our fascination for what is shiny and glitters'.. A fascination for all that glitters is just one of the many things Aimee had in common with her Nan 💛

'Women in Bronze' above by Melbourne artist Sonya Payes looks amazing sitting on the pristine white sand of Cottesloe beach with the Indian Ocean glinting in the background. The Artist's statement 'This work invites the viewer to explore an internal self-reflection, extending themes of regeneration in an anthropocene world where humanity has become the dominant influence on climate and the environment'.

Below created in corten steel 'Shifting Horizons' by Perth based artist April Pine..definitely one to come back and take in the setting sun. The artist's statement 'A series of Corten figures individual in density. Their presence is reduced to line work as a means of mapping and engaging with the horizon. Stoic in posture the works are reflective and considered as watchful guardians'..
